[ID] Review of the Policy Roadmap on the National Literacy Culture

The review of the policy roadmap explores the challenges of literacy acculturation and what strategies can be implemented in order to improve literacy in Indonesia

In order to improve the quality of Indonesia's human resources and culture in a sustainable manner, the Indonesian government has developed an academic paper on the Roadmap to Foster a Culture of Literacy through Increased Reading and Writing 2021-2045. The critical review of the roadmap explores the challenges of literacy acculturation and what strategies can be implemented in order to improve literacy in Indonesia. The recommendations are as follow: first, there is a need to conduct in-depth research into a definition of literacy that is more suitable to the socio-cultural conditions of Indonesian society and secondly, there is a need to further explore some important literacy learning methods such as through oral and visual learning methods, group collaboration, discussion and reflection, critical thinking methods and problem facing methods.
