Hans Mathieu follows Sergio Grassi as Resident Director of FES Indonesia

Brief introduction to Hans Mathieu, new Resident Director of FES Indonesia.

After six years Sergio Grassi has ended his tenure as Resident Director of FES in Indonesia. He is succeeded by Hans Mathieu, who has been with FES since 1991. Mr. Mathieu's assignments for FES included Brazil, China, the Dominican Republic and Cuba, Colombia and Mexico, as well as positions at FES Headquarters. From 2008 through 2012 he also directed the Program for Regional Security in Latin America with a focus on the Political Economy of Organized Crime. Before joining FES he studied political science at the University of Bonn, social and economic development at the University of Pittsburgh and Latin American studies at Tulane University, New Orleans. From 1986 to 1988 he worked at the London School of Economics and Political Science in a joint project with the London Business School on Multinational Corporations and Industrial Policy in Brazil, Kenya and Malaysia.
