Young Progressive Academy Batch 3: Empowering Indonesia’s Next Generation of Changemakers

Artanti Wardhani

Young Progressive Academy Batch 3 brought together 34 passionate young leaders aged 20–30, representing 20 provinces across Indonesia. Selected from 197 applicants, the participants reflected a wide range of backgrounds and experiences—from civil servants and journalists to community activists, students, and persons with disabilities.

Their journey began in Jakarta with a series of kick-off sessions designed to build a strong foundation for the months ahead. Participants explored topics including democracy, Indonesian society and culture, youth development, and presentation skills, while beginning to build connections with fellow changemakers from across the country.

Over the following months, they engaged in online sessions exploring critical issues such as Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), digital transformation, globalization, climate change, and project management.

The journey concluded with a graduation and final learning session in Jakarta in February 2025, where participants gained deeper insights into civic movement, activism, and both online and offline campaigning.

Upon completing the program, Batch 3 officially joined the YPA alumni network, now totaling 71 changemakers from all three batches. This alumni gathering was more than just a reunion—it was a space for networking, collaboration, and real-world learning - highlighting the power of community-driven change and allowed alumni to learn directly from successful grassroots organizers.
