[ID] Protecting the State from Neoliberal Threats

The entire discussion in this book is wrapped around three major themes:

1. the rise and expansion of the state, especially during wartime, in mobilizing the security apparatus to ensure national security;
2. the rise of liberalism/neo-liberalism that significantly reduces the functions and roles of the state; and
3. the forces of globalization that encourage the growth of regionalism, requiring the state to transform its nature, functions and roles.
